Agreed. I believe Hop used to vet the new registrants and was quite good at it. I have no idea what tools he used. But, other things are also eroding around here. Our post button has no text. Our formatting buttons are gone. No one knows how to embed video like Hop and KD used to. Our statistics page has lost the headers for each of the top ten lists. We lost our monthly page view counts page.

I think we need to contact JCD himself and ask who the SA is around here these days. Also, we probably need to appoint a couple of additional moderators to help out.

I'll re-volunteer and would even take up the task of enforcing the etiquette rules if necessary. I think we need more people involved with running the site. I'm not a qualified SA. My expertise is writing middleware, a skill that would probably not help much in an SA.

I agree, but I am not qualified, not even properly knowledgeable with things digital to know what should be there and not.
I do monitor and report spam/porn, etc.
And I see that you have just deleted something that I was probably going to report!
I also have no idea where we should be recruiting said required help!

BTW, if you click on that name, do you get any options that I wouldn't get? As moderator, you may have the option to block the name. Anyway, I'll let you know if I hear back from JCD.

Please contact him yourself. I assume you have his email address.

I let him know of the issue and asked him to block the offending user or give me the power to do so. I am asking to become a moderator. I have previously also asked for access to the back end to make minor fixes to the interface. I don't think I'm qualified for any truly radical changes to the site. But, I could probably fix problems like our loss of formatting buttons, the lack of text on the post button, the lack of headers for the sections on the statistics pages, and other minor problems we have.

I wish you the best.  Does that mean I hope you get the job or not?

Spam.  At least it is a porn site in French....easy to see?  Its when the libertarians start spamming a blog with their Ayn Rand Objectivism that things get aggravating.
