  Fatah vs Hamas
« on: May 10, 2006, 09:23:17 AM » by mjvoice
I saw an article in today's paper [AP story by Ibrahim Barzak] about "two days of gunbattles" between Hamas & Fatah, in Gaza City.

"Nine Palestinians, including five children on their way to school, were wounded in a gunfight in Gaza City" [emphasis mine].

Two things which stuck in my mind, about how things have changed:

1. Since it is not Israeli troops wounding the children, there is no international outcry.

2. Along with the article, my paper included a picture [AP, Khalil Hambra] showing "Palestinian medics treat Arkan Al Daghma, 12, who was shot Tuesday during clashes...". It surprised me to see a picture of a minor, with an abdominal wound clearly visible, displayed in the newspaper. If it was an American minor shot in an American city, would the photo have been published?
