It looks like it is working now for Portable Firefox 1.5.0.1.

When I first cruised by this morning the right sidebar was centering over the center column. Horoscopes overlapped the content section, for example.

FireFox 1.5.0.3

It's working fine now. <shrug>

Same as Andy. This morning the sidebar was overlapping the main column, this has been fixed. The RSS bug still exists though.

I hate me too's, but the layout this morning had the outer two columns shifted left instead of centered around the middle column.
When I resized my window down to a bit more than half of my usual 1280x1024 (- windows start menu bar) it looked fine.
It's looked like the positions for the outside columns were hardcoded for a narrower view, but the middle column was centered.

It looks fine for me now.
This was with firefox 1.5.0.3 (upgraded portable ff)

there have been a couple of posts that for unknown reasons caused the anomaly you cited. It happened to me too. I delted the post and it went away. This made no sense and I suspect something else is going on. Thus I'm working on some new designs altogether. I want a completely different look by August. There will prbably some interim changes during the next few months.

I am using the newest version of firefox. I was able to get on the blog, but the links on the right side were moved over to the left on top of the main body of the blog. I clicked on one of the links and the page refreshed and all the links were back were they were supposed to be. I then returned to the blog a little while later and everything seemed fine. The page was displayed properly.

I agree with Andy G's post. Earlier today it was bringing the right column into the center, but it's fine now with Firefox/1.5.0.3.

John:

Ain't XHTML/CSS a gas?

This is a subject very near and dear to me, which also tends to make me feel as though I have spent my life living with an undiagnosed learning disability. But what really needs to be pointed out is that the XHTML for your wordpress theme doesn't just not validate; as of this moment, it comes back with 231 errors.

Some of them are irrelevant (omitted alt tags) and some of them break links and scripts. As an example, the pic for cagematch forums actually displays in IE beta 2, but not Firefox, etc. Not that this would be fatal or explain this specific problem, but it seems likely that it is the result of something being broken inside the theme, itself -- a missing quote mark or angle bracket, or maybe even just some garbled text.

That said? You should also avail yourself of some of the collective technical experience here and solicit a (much) more informed opinion than mine.

With this caveat, however, I'd also suggest you might find it worth your time to examine Yahoo's User Interface library, (http://com1.devnet.scd.yahoo.com/yui/index.html)specifically the .CSS files it provides, reset, fonts and grids. These three files provide a reasonably simple way to ensure against font sizing and layout issues that break various browsers, and would likely integrate with the typical wordpress theme fairly cleanly.

My resolution is set to 1600x1200 and everything is on the far right side of the screen in Firefox.    in IE 6.0 though,  at resolution 1024x768, it works just fine.

Well, I've never seen a template that doesn;t have a tonnage of errors and even those error free seldom layout correctly with all the broswers. One problem is that no two bowsers interpret CSS the same way. Sucks!

I'll check out the Yahoo stuff until I get my act together.

So far, so good. Other Drupallers are beginning to integrate grids.css (the most significant of the three .CSS files included in YUI) into Drupal themes and with good result; the end product validates and displays properly with some exceptions, but IE 6.x isn't among them.

True to form, grids.css is written in the shorthand preferred by programmers and is somewhat abstract: this thread (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ydn-javascript/message/1597), in which I come off like a total retard, does a nice job of explaining the ambiguities of the design and may spare you some of the headache of trying to figure out what  thier version of grids and blocks and so on are actually supposed to accomplish.

I could have used a l-r scrollbar across the bottom so that i could see the whole page without resizing so that the letters are teeny, for these old eyes. I am an ancient one still using 600 x 800.  shifted to 1024 x 768 for this but it still doesn't quite fit.  Using firefox. Never use IE.  scroll bar not available.

May 24--I'm still seeing the right 2 columns shifted over top of each other.  The numbering in column 3 (second from right) is overlapping column 2.  I've added the extension to view in IE and it just requires a left click on the Firefox icon in the line above the taskbar to switch over to IE.
