I really hate to do this, but you seem like a nice enough guy...

The reason you are getting hit with so much spam is because you don't incorporate the nofollow tag into your comments. Basically you are giving out links in exchange for comments. The nofollow tag will remove any possible transferred search engine trust and give spammers no incentive to post. I personally choose to comment on your blog because of my genuine interest in many topics, but other SEO practitioners see your blog as free high ranking links, or pure gold.

On most every Wordpress blog I see, the nofollow is included. I really believe you are now in the minority when it comes to nofollow inclusion.

I'm kicking my own ass as I write this because you adding a nofollow is going to cancel out all of the links I have already obtained from your blog (thanks). Most went to my SEO client sites anyways '

Add the tag and the spam will practically halt.

As I said on the main site I do not use nor recommend a nofollow tag policy. I prefer to have the site searched from top to bottom for the convenience of people looking for things. The additional exposure from Google hits is worth the effort. A least 10-percent of the daily visits come from Google and much of that has to do with NOT using nofollow. Spam Karma has already taken care of the problem AND I can leave out the nofollow tag.

I was just getting used to filling-in the 4-digit code after every post - and allowing for the expected moderation delay - and just-now my post wasn't delayed at all...

Have you gone to a white-list or cookie-based system??

Me... I had several posts removed or flagged as Spam. I assure you I'm not spamming, just inserted some links and that was it... Now I can't even post small comments. Am I blacklisted?...  

What I often get on the blog, is the message, Hold on cowboy, ... wait 15 seconds.

Usually the very first time I try to send a comment, sometimes the second. Yet I did not post at all yet.

Also would be nice a link back to the main blog at the message, Thank you, post has been accepted. That should be easy.

Yea Ive been getting that "wait 15 seconds, cowboy" when posting for the first time (usually after a few hrs of not being onsite) - i've been logging out & logging back in to get around that - but it does take more than 15 seconds to do that... so....

I click post and I get the error screen, usually end up starting over and then I don't feel like typing it all out again  .. well last part is just me but yeah -- I seem to get some problems.

This new filter sucks!!!! it blocks everything I try to post. I get the same error as above...

I also got the Regex Blacklist spam filter error and all I've ever done is report spam to the Moderator. I think ECA is looking into it.

Somehow it's not as interesting, reading the blog entries when you can't comment on them....

This is getting very tiring and frustrating. I reported two spam messages in this Forum today (Sunday) to the Moderator, then I tried to post in a brand new, news item on the blog. At the exact same time, some stranger got to publish a post but I got:

What in the world is tripping the spam filter? I'm the furthest thing from a spammer you could possibly imagine and I'm beginning to resent these grossly insulting messages.
