Memo to the get-Yang bunch: Back off and let him manageIf I could get the shareholder mailing list from Yahoo Inc., specifically the addresses of the grumblers, this is the letter I'd send them all: What is wrong with you people? You want Jerry Yang ousted when he's only been CEO for one year and a couple of days after inheriting a mess left by his do-nothing predecessor, Terry Semel.
Semel was there for six years. Why didn't you ever complain about him and his $70 million salary?
Why didn't you complain about all those weird acquisitions over the years where Yahoo threw your money down the drain with no positive impact. Remember the $3 billion purchase of Broadcast.com? Why no fuss over that?
So now what is the beef with Yang? Apparently it's only over one thing: he doesn't want to sell the company.
That's it. That's all.
I hope you all know that no company is under any obligation to sell out to the highest bidder. You do know this, right?
