Low Tech Manufacture Of Solar Cells Using Ink Jet And Pizza Oven
« on: August 21, 2008, 06:15:08 PM » by oz4me
From the Sydney Morning Herald

Ms Kuepper realised a new approach would be needed if affordable cells were to be made on site in poorer countries: "What started off as a brainstorming session has resulted in the iJET cell concept that uses low-cost and low-temperature processes, such as ink-jet printing and pizza ovens, to manufacture solar cells."

Nicole Kuepper PhD student and lecturer in the school of photovoltaic and renewable energy engineering at the University of NSW.

Are you sure this person isn't an alien? Or a Saint?

I sure hope this isn't one of those hundreds of 'breakthroughs' you read about, then they mysteriously disappear off the face of Terra, for whatever reason.

If it's economically viable you'll hear more about it.  If it is pie in the sky, you won't...

What a babe, and she's attractive, too!  Her process looks to be less expensive than this one, released earlier this year and already has some funding.
