Adam's whole Rose Colored Glasses theory reminds me of the film They Live in which a special brand of sunglasses allow the hero (played by Rowdy Roddy Piper) and an underground organization to see through the disguises that an alien race uses to make themselves look like regular people.  Best thing about the movie is that it exposes tons of 'Gitmo-Nation' type references and hypnotic subliminal messages within media.  When Roddy Piper wears the glasses, a Coca-Cola billboard suddenly appears with the words "Obey" emblazoned on it and magazines and newspapers suddenly have "Consume" and "Reproduce" imprinted all over them.  Yet, when he takes the glasses off, everything seems normal: no space aliens walking around, no subliminal messaging, no fascism.  It's all disguised.  It'd be great if Adam could figure out a way to get those Rose Colored Glasses to see the reptiles walking around us.

I have never seen or heard of "They Live". It's on Netflix and now in my queue.

Yep, me too.  I think I saw that movie a number of years ago, but I don't remember much about it.
