1  The Tech Section / Operating Systems / Re: Just Deleted a Large Folder--what do you use to Recover?
« on: 09:29:41 PM »

thats the problem..
In the old days, you could GET AHOLD of a program, and Evaluate it..
You could Run Dozens of program to SEE WHICH DID WHAT,and HOW.

NOW, it costs money to test CRAP..
it takes TONS of time to run some programs..

When I check a computer for virus and bots..first thing is to SEE if it starts and HOW long..then I ask if they wish me to START from scratch..its FASTER then fixing it..but loose everything.  emails, address, links, passwords, pictures, data...AND even getting the DATA off, can take HOURS..and FEW programs search it and FIND IT..to backup.

Strange thing..
try doing a BACKUP from OUTLOOK/EXPRESS...for your email links/addresses..there is an EXPORT...but try to find the IMPORT..look at the formats..LAST time I used it was years ago, so they MIGHT have changed it.

2  Water Cooler / This and that / TODAYS BANKS and BANKING. dont go there..
« on: 09:26:15 AM »

http://consumerist.com/2013/06/17/former-staffers-bank-of-america-rewarded-us-for-lying-to-homeowners-losing-paperwork-denying-modifications/

In sworn statements provided for a lawsuit by homeowners against Bank of America, a half-dozen people who reviewed loan modification applications for BofA say the company encouraged staffers to lose applicants paperwork so that it could later be denied, putting homeowners at further risk of losing their homes. And if these people are to be believed, some folks out there may have lost their homes so that a BofA employee could get a Target gift card.
=================================

NOW think about getting a loan..
And in the MONTH it takes, the interest rate goes up a few points..
your paper work is GONE and it was a Good loan, with nice payments and good interest rates..GONE.
Do you go back to the SAME bank??  get the NEW LOAN for higher rates??

from NOW ON...
COPY EVERYTHING..
RECORD any and all conversations with audio and or video..

3  Water Cooler / Tasteless or Not Tasteless / PAYING for natural??
« on: 09:14:14 AM »

http://consumerist.com/2013/06/17/someone-worked-very-hard-to-make-that-natural-piece-of-lunch-meat-look-imperfect/

Someone Set aside a job to make PROCESSED FOOD, look like UNPROCESSED FOOD..and are charging you for it..

================
For example: Domino’s workers are told to not worry about making the rectangular Artisan Pizzas too perfect, so they appear more rustic; McDonald’s eggs whites for its new sandwich are a loose shape instead of the perfectly formed round discs the Egg McMuffin features and at Kraft Foods, well, the Carving Board line of meats had better look like leftovers from grandma’s roast turkey.
================
Winder why that NATURAL MEAT is so MOIST???  its the SAME PROCESSED CRAP..
how much Water do you want in your meat??

They cant JUST COOK a chicken and Cut off a Breast and SLAP it in a box..

IF nothing ELSE...goto the DELI...and they will SLICE you off some $6 per pound MEAT..  LOOK at those packages and the prices..PLEASE.

4  Water Cooler / Tasteless or Not Tasteless / Re: hospitals AND CORPORATIONS..
« on: 08:12:35 AM »

HOw many health concerns would be solved BEFORE hand, if people went in 1-2 times a year for a GOOD/over all coverage and test..

Its not always the DOCTOR thats expensive..  the tests are as bad as the drug costs..
You could pay 10 times the price for an item Off the shelf.. even with out going to the hospital.

THEN we dont even tell the Fast food places that they can only serve FOOD..and SOME of the stuff on the shelf at the store..  HOw much SUGAR is in our food..salt?  and then you wonder WHY we get FAT..

BHA...look it up..its from PLASTIC.

Back on subject..

NICE building, filtered air..  and a BED LIKE A ROCK..
If you figure a 1 day Fix up in a hospital...is over $14000, Im wondering WHO Im paying..  What could you get at Las Vagas, during the BUSY SEASON??  (at about $200-250 per room)  I figure about 1/2 of a FLOOR..  how about a Down payment on a nice house.  A CHEAP CAR??

5  Water Cooler / Tasteless or Not Tasteless / hospitals AND CORPORATIONS..
« on: 03:11:05 AM »

I find it interesting that it takes $1000 per day to lay in bed.
That doctors cant FIX you unless something is Wrong...
They cant prevent, or discourage or DELAY...that is what TV is for.

There are many stories of people going doctor to Doctor and NONE finding a problem...until the last one(like looking in the last place for a lost item) WHO finds it, FINALLY...and its cost yo tons of money for visits and tests..

Even with insurance, going to the DOCTOR to find something WRONG, could cost you you HOME..CAR and a debt for along time.  so, lower incomes tend NOT to seek help until its to late, in many cases.

IF I paid $1000 for a nite at a hotel, I could expect LOTS of things..maybe even a Good hooker..  Or a room big enough to PARTY IN..  At a hospital you MIGHT get a room alone.

NOW Im not talking about the Doctors, but if you involve them, you are adding TONS more money just for the visit.

Then comes a few extras things that they ADD ON..the cost of 1 aspirin..

Some times I think they do it to keep sick people away.

6  Water Cooler / GMOTW - M. Scott / Re: Hydrogen: Still a battery; but easier to split from water now
« on: June 15, 2013, 10:02:35 PM »

oB,
What would happen, if we used HEAT to expand the hydrogen, Which expands 10,000 times easily..
USE that expansion to turn a generator,
then reduce it..back to a form to USE again??
Everyone thinks about BURNING/EXPLODING..why?

Once this is built it could deliver CONSTANT energy..I dont care if 1/2 the power is user to re-condense it..Run it thru a Hydrogen bath..and get it Down to -100 or -200..I dont really care if its solar powered..

sOMETHING THEY MAY not HAVE TOLD YOU..

A dir is deleted as a DIR..not individual files..  thats what I see in TRASH anyway..

9  The Tech Section / Operating Systems / Re: Just Deleted a Large Folder--what do you use to Recover?
« on: June 15, 2013, 04:06:37 PM »

heres the fun part..
LONG ago..
I had a nice program, that ALL it did was check the DIR for listed files(in that time ALL files were listed in a DIR for faster access, even sub DIR in its own directory are good)..
The only things GENERALLY used is a CHECK in 1 small spot to designate a File..as read/write/delete/hidden/..  and it was fairly quick, as long as there were NO re-writes(as you know)..

I dont know how it is NOW..I used to know the architecture..aint had to deal with it in years.

that IS ANOTHER TRICK..
If you have Multi dives, make the boot blocks BOOTABLE and install an OS..Just in case..
Having a couple utilities installed with those other boots is great also.  my only problem is I DONT know what works with WHAT anymore.
The old tools either WORK, or crap out quick.  sysinternals has some nice ones..

I still dont trust Win7 backup..(iv had other suggestions) but would love a Mirroring of my OS..SOMEPLACE..maybe a second boot sector.  Incase the first one fails I can tell the system to BOOT from the other drive..

« on: June 15, 2013, 01:44:45 PM »

vERY TRUE.

and part of the problem comes with...
HOW FAR you can push a people DOWN..What restrictions you can PUSH onto them...
then TIME changes all the time, and the rules change...IT SUCKS..
lets look at it..

DECIMATION.  Columbus and others brought Bad things to this nation, unknowingly.  Over 1/2 of the americas DIED.
CULTURE SHOCK..1 ideology of LIFe from another..from sharing trading to VALUE ADDED..
Fighting, both physical and TRYING to understand the WHITE MAN and his ways...Even after, STILL, not getting your RIGHTS..
Becoming an itinerant race..being moved and abused in any/every way by Corrupt CARE and STILL no one Cared.  most times 1/2 of the materials given to you, we STOLEN by those responsible for GIVING IT TO YOU..
RESTRICTIONS on life, and how you could take care of yourself.  houseing, hunting, farming, LAND...every time you IMPROVED a location someone would FIND a reason to MOVE YOU..

then trying to ADAPT to the White man...You were considered Worse then a DOG..even if you could SHOW you were in the RIGHT..you were not given your rights.  HOw long do you beat a DOG, until it cowers in the corner?  Consider that SOME indians were still FIGHTING into the 1900's..  until the 1950-60's and A FEW nice lawyers and Indian LAWYERS got together, DID they get SOME RIGHTS..  they RIGHTS to do with THEIR LAND, as they wished/needed/wanted..(thanks to the MAFIA)...

What would be interesting is starting a REAL store chain on INDIAN LANDS...NO TAXES..LOWER PRICES to fight against SOME of the WHITE MANS GAINS..

A hard thing to do...
is that WHEN you get a NEW HD, you partition it..
1. WINDOWS with extra room
2. Programs..that you install
3. DATA, DATA DATA DATA...

The DATA dir/partition does NOT need to be as bag as the rest.  but is 1 that you can SCAN AND SORT, and BACKUP..
Its best to get NEWBES to learn this early..Us/we old folks got used to an HD that DIDNT have tons of room.

Most of the problems comes/came from the Straight backed WHITE Europe MALE religious and banks..

1. everything has value.
2. NO ONE has rights except US.
3. Your land has no registry of ownership..SO WE CAN TAKE IT..
4...
5..
6..
..
1001.....

You are a Christian?  What color are you?  JESUS IS WHITE..

I wont go further..

Energy is created many ways..and for some reason we believe it needs to EXPLODE..
Energy can be used and recycled, if you dont destroy it.

BAttery is the idea that something created MAKES something work..it is the FUEL..

I said..
Windows didnt send to TRASH. it deleted from the location..Down the tubes..
IF' you can direct the program to the location FROM which you deleted the programs..it MAY find them..
A program that goes across EVERYTHING...is ???  it will take TIME..and find TONS of crap..probably a List as long as your arm.

I seem to remember Recova..I have never used it..
I consider the OLD DAYS when I lost something, and how long it took on a 100meg drive.  Even DEFRAG's take TONS of time anymore..Tons as in DAYS..
