Scotty, your drugs here cost $5 per month, and generic costs even less. If you are using Insulin then it will be a little more, but under $50 per month. Same for HIV drugs, which are cheap, and if you go to a state hospital free. Last time I went for stitches (4) I had a co pay of $20, as it was after hours on a Saturday, but my doctor was there, and asked for the reason for my stupidity. If after hours now I would pay the $200 charge for the ER, or could go to a state hospital and hope they are not too busy so I do not spend the day there. |

I will add that government does not pay fuel taxes, and thus the fuel they use is much cheaper. As well they bought the vehicles for around half the dealer price, as again no taxes.
While it is stupid to buy a vehicle with poor fuel consumption, they could easily have done better, but these were probably a pork barrel project to satisfy a union requirement, and use up a stock of old chassis parts or keep a unprofitable production line going. |

Here there is a labour law that a person can and will be held responsible for a death as a result of workplace safety neglect. Starts with the top people being the responsible ones first. The USA could do with that being implemented. |

And the most common associated words are scandal and a certain leading group of city banks. Found out to have manipulated the rate, but so far none have had more than a being told naughty, dont be caught doing it again, with nothing more happening.
What should have happened involves a lot of feathers, boiling hot tar, a rail and a trip into the Thames for all those involved, along with a credit to all the affected consumers who paid an excessive rate.
Don't hold your breath though. |

Then they only sell you one, and most people will just buy the same again.
Then again I just repaired a cheap optical mouse by replacing the cable, simple enough to do, though I discarded the gimmicky roll up cable reel totally, as it was the cause of the ultra thin cable breaking ( hey the mouse was free). It now joins the mouse collection, most made up of older MS wheel mice, the white ones that originally came out. Some have needed new buttons and cables over the years, but they are perfect for me, even with the stained cases that show up wear. Still looking to get the newer black ones as extras when I can get them free. |

The boiling effect is the result of electric currents flowing through the layers of plasma, driven by the rotation of the sun through it's magnetic field. Think of it as analogous to wind made visible to our view, where you can see all the gusts and eddies in the flow. Think of how a hot desert road looks like with the shimmer on the distance. |

At least I do not have to worry about Africanised bees, i have 5 hives within 50m of me, that absolutely love the nice nests the council erected for them ( otherwise known as street light poles) and all the assorted flowers. Watched the one swarm on Monday, they found a new home. We did have to remove one hive that had been made in a birdbath near the door though, called the beekeeper and he came and took the hive away. |

Here in SA there has been a blend available since the 1980's and all stations carry it in the tank, it is the standard fuel inland and is the only fuel now since the phasing out of TE lead a few years ago. Lead replacement is the blend with an added additive. There were issues with some cars where there were corrosion problems with the castings used which had a high proportion of zinc, but all cars now are very happy with this fuel. Anything made by importers into the country works on it as well, it is a solved problem. Only issue might be USA made cars where the manufacturer is still behind the times, but any motor manufacturer that exports to Brazil or Mexico for example knows how to work with alcohol blends. You just need to be aware that certain old natural rubber seals and a very few nitrile rubber compositions are not alcohol compatible, but then again they are going to swell in water as well. All the seals and hoses I use are compatible, along with all the locally made fuel filters ( GUD and the other arm of the company FRAM) after they did a little work to improve the glue that is used internally to make it work with alcohol and not swell when exposed.
You will find a slight loss in fuel economy, because the fuel is a little lighter, but a 15% mix is not going to be noticed, 60% will be detectable only after long comparison trials or on an engine test bed, you do not see any difference in driving normally.
The only cars that had problems were old cars with carburettors that had corrosion block the internal jets after a while, and the filters that would clog as the alcohol stripped all the accumulated junk out of the tank and deposited it into the filters, along with some filters that separated and allowed the junk to go through and block the needle valve. Certain seals would leak and diaphragms inside would break from exposure, but only after prolonged use, replacements were made from a more resistant material. |

I was thinking today about those who made a difference here, KD Martin and Harrison Hopper. gone and we are the poorer for the loss, they both made the world a better place for their being here. |
