I would like to say something Stupid here..

What happens to LOOSE SOIL..
Think about it.  please.
You place explosives in a hole, and Break loose all this soil and rock to release gas..
NOW you pump water into it..
wATER DONT sit IN SOIL..
Stupid, NO, uninformed, YES!
There is no economic return if fracking is carried out where the overburden is only till and or sand and gravel. It only makes money if it is carried out after deeper hole directionally drilled horizontal wells underneath several layers of impervious rock. Only then will the returns yield significant volumes of condensates.

Bobbobo, you missed the obvious! It [the test]is definitionally deficient, since the term "looking at" is not precisely refined in the statement. Is it ogling, or just simple noticing, or fantasizing, etc.! I too detest such quizzes, for this reason!

ya, we need a GOOD theologian..

how about this..
Are you saved, IF...
You goto church every day and give to the poor and help society ALL your life..
OR..
If you do it in your LAST DAYS..

That's loaded too. Saved is a very Christian concept. Judaism doesn't discuss the afterlife much. It's not clear whether Judaism supports the idea. There are just a few hints in the religion. Islam talks about paradise in the hereafter. I'm not sure the concept is salvation though. I don't know enough about Islam to say.

But, even if you assume salvation applies to all forms of Christianity and Islam, you still have less than half the world's population. So, asking are you saved if you do this or that still assumes that one believes in the concept of salvation. You've only covered 3.3 billion of the world's 7 billion. The rest are left saying no to your either or question.

And, I'm in that majority who say no.

The questions must be asked in some form of a flow chart. Perhaps the first question must be whether one believes that there are supernatural powers in the universe. This is a three valued answer: Yes, No, Don't know. After that, it gets harder.

I think it's a job for a philosopher rather than a theologian. The problem with theology is that since it starts with god in its very name, it begins with the assumption that one or more gods exist. The possibility that none exist, based on ... say ... all of the available evidence in the universe, does not enter their minds as a real possibility. It is only an idea to be disputed, never considered by theology.
Your reply does not mention the possibility of a Universal Power [or connectivity] throughout the several possible co-existing Universii that may be oblivious to each other.
I have read some where that some mathematicians theorize with some convincing calculations that more than one Universe is possible. Furthermore would this be an explanation for the gravitational effects observed from so called dark matter/energy? This is probably also why it is impossible for a "personality" god to exist! The whole concept of a personal loving god in Christianity is a hypothetical pipe dream by those lacking in abstract reasoning powers. For me it is more logical to be Agnostic until further evidence is developed!

It should be noted that these induced Earthquakes are all in the small range. If you follow the continuous postings, there are numerous of these in the Tulsa, Ok. area and several other locations in the Texas / Oklahoma oil - gas fields.  While they can be a little unsettling, they are not of a magnitude that causes property damage nor injury or death unlike those around the ring of fire in the Pacific and elsewhere on this planet!

Just when I want an example there are none currently available!

WHat does a corp do with pollutants??

I just found a new answer: use them to start earthquakes. Had you heard about this? I'll probably post the article on its own thread as well.

http://www.motherjones.com/environment/2013/03/does-fracking-cause-earthquakes-wastewater-dewatering

: Mother Jones
The EPA classifies and regulates underground injection wells—some 700,000 and counting—based on what goes into them. There are six categories. Class VI wells sequester carbon dioxide; Class V wells store nonhazardous fluids; nuclear waste is stashed in Class IV wells; Class III wells are used in mining salt, uranium, copper, and sulfur; industrial chemicals get stored in Class I wells. Wastewater from oil and gas operations is discharged—typically by injecting it under pressure—into Class II wells.
This is very old news. There is historic evidence of Earthquakes in Wyoming that began after the oil companies began higher pumping [extraction] rates. Then when the newer methods were introduced using water and later fire flooding [injection techniques to re-pressurize the oil bearing strata] these anout using steam heat and high voltage electrodes. This silty brine cannot be released out on the surface as it "burns" the fauna and flora in the run off creeks. By laws passed by both provinces, this crappy water must be pumped back down wells drilled into strata which have similar salinity. This oil field sits on top of what is called a great salt lake or more correctly the vast beds of potash plus other salts underlying much of the Cdn. Prairies. Earthquakes are unheard of in this geographic area.
Hydraulic Fracturing is not always the bad boogie man it is made out to be. If used where the structure to be fractured is relatively deep under ground with sufficient impervious overburden rock strata, the fluids are contained, and then re-extracted to be trucked to disposal sites for chemical wastes. Shallow fields with porous and alluvial over burdens are not good candidates for "fracking" since the oil or gas released by the broken shale will leak out upwards and reduce the intended yield as well pollute pastures, creeks, farm fields, and water wells. In Saskatchewan, if an oil company pollutes a farmer's water well for his livestock and his family's drinking source, they are required by law to dig that farmer a new clean well and pipe the water to his buildings. This is from over 50 years ago when I was growing up there! Americans need to learn how to control their politicians and corporations better apparently!

Even your argument that life begins at birth is not totally valid. That life enters the World with an almost blank memory, [with the exception of some in urtero sensations]. Hence it could be argued that until the new born exhibits certain levels of cognizance, they ought not to be afforded Human status, say 18 months. [That might open the door to post natal drownings being legalized up until the brat learns how to wipe it's own ass!] {I just bit my tongue it is so far inside my cheek!}

There are half truths in both sides of our arguments, I conceded, but I do not purposely prevent the sale of any of these goods or services to any third world citizen. They themselves screw themselves out of their opportunities.
If there is a market for these goods, in third world countries, there are more than enough greedy corporations that will attempt to supply that market! But you have to get out of bed in the morning early, go to work, and earn the sheckles to buy said goods/services! It also means getting with the program as a student to earn a diploma/degree, etc. to qualify to earn a living.
As for how to heat your house and hamburger, there is more than a glut of natural gas in this World, with more coming on stream, and not just from hydraulic fracturing either!
Yes some minerals are in tight supply, but alternatives get developed.
But the basic problem with Homo stupidus, is laying around screwing him/herself out of a place at the meal table!
Then there are those who can accumulate several degrees in various disciplines, but are as useless as tits on a boar hog when it comes to apply the knowledge/skills in the workplace.
What is the most required educational tool, not taught or practiced to the required level in this looming crisis is LOGIC!
You jump to the conclusion that there is not enough food or water in the World is the reason for the many starving hordes. Wrong, it is a lack of being able to deliver that to where these under fed live, and the mechanism as to how it should be paid for. We waste more food in a month than some countries use in a year!
As for the herbicides, I recall the first use of 2,4,D which soon became ineffective, and had to be superceded with 2,4,5,T and now there is something called Round Up. As I understand it, so called Agent Orange [because it is a Rusty Red color] was originally an unwanted by product of a process at Dow Chemical, Sarnia, Ont. and that is where/when they started looking for a use for this toxcin. These are very long lasting compounds, plus they get distributed in the environment far more widely than anticipated. 2,4,D can be found in the adipose tissue of Beluga Whales in the Arctic! Now assume that they may have been feeding in the mouth of the St. Lawrence River part of the year, but that is still an awful long ways away from the grain fields of the Prairies and Ontario! Some use may have occurred in Quebec, too! It decimated the Peregrin Falcons, which only now are returning to areas from which they were extirpated! Peregrins nearly becam extinct from both 2,4,D & 2,4,5,T. Atlasicide is another trade name product which is a total herbicide and a nasty product. One product, which may have been Round Up, was being stirred with a screw driver by a farmer in the 2 gallon can before it was placed in the sprayer. He dropped the screw driver, and without thinking reached in with his bare hand to retrieve it. Then tried to wash it off, couldn't and went to his doctor. When the doctor found out what it was, he said sorry, but you have 24 to 28 hours to live, and that is what happened. It is absorbed through the skin, and the directions apparently tell you to use chemical resistant gloves and clothing! His wife had no legal basis to expect any success suing the mfg. because he violated the directions for use of the product!
In any thinking, it must be remembered that our lives are just a crap shoot at the best of times. But our species is a risk taking animal that plays with the odds like the dice can be manipulated to undo any mistakes, and it ain't so!

What do you expect, when they can't even fix Good Friday/Easter to the same weekend every year?!!!
Time to metricate the calendar, and the clock, too, while your at it, too!
But that sort of thinking would get the confused even more confounded!

Scott, I disagree on several points:
-Agent Orange does not have to be eaten, it and its derivatives can be absorbed through the skin!
-the way I live does not prevent others from living the way I do. It is far more a function of their combined government policies, corporate tyrannies, religious rites/practices than anything that I or my fellow North Americans do individually. But it is also partly that they do not want to live our way, too! Our way of life will have to change, no doubt, but in my case it will be post mortem.
-what says that organic foods qualify? I suspect that merchants are scamming us, and I won't buy them until they are priced the same or lower. There is a lack of food traceability, and who qualifies what is truly organic?
-as for Criminal, don't confuse the violations of  long standing violence against persons with the technical violations of accumulation of property, wealth, and political/socio-economic power! Plus it is a long held fallacy that we are all born equal. What it should read is "born into equal opportunity"!
Definitions be damned, it is errors in thinking which plague our species, and limit our effectiveness.

Now, FireFox just froze for the first time on trying to refresh a website...Dvorak by coincidence this time.  I did upgrade Firefox a few days before upgrading Adobe.  Interaction?  Hmmm....I wonder if older versions of Firefox are archived for use by those who so prefer?  Go back 1-2 versions when it worked just fine?
Now Firefox on the other hand does frequently freeze or lock down. It needs to be reset or what ever to clear off scripts running in the background, or something. But it is still a far better browser for my purposes. Here is a cute Boogie Woogie that you may enjoy if you have not already seen it:

I use You Tube all the time and never have had a freeze up!
When feeling a little melancholy,  I just dial up some You Tube Jazz:

Go back to the point I am trying to make. The Christian Bibles in all the various translations are written in non relevant and inept language useage. No one speaks or writes like this, and it therefore constitutes subterfuge, baffle gab, and deception. It is one of the oldest persistent con jobs prevalent in the history of our species. All the definitioning in the World will not resolve the perception problems it creates. It is a whole pseudo industry in itself! Don't burn or bury it, just send it to Coventry! aka ignore the flipping idiots! Starve them into their senses!

59  Water Cooler / GMOTW - M. Scott / Re: Bible is Clear: A Fetus is NOT a Life

Extract from quote:
"And if men strive together, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart, and yet no harm follow, he shall be surely fined, according as the woman’s husband shall lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine."
unquote.
The way this is written is confusing to me. Where do you see English written with these sort of word choices and backwards linkage? To me it is not relevant nor logical, and I reject it as babble gab. It sure does not qualify for legalese either!
Now for sake of argument, do avian's laid eggs qualify as life, or do they require hatching first? They are external to the hens! In the latter stages the chicks can be heard peeping inside the shells before they hatch!

The various translations of the Christian Bible is NEVER clear. It is written in what I call gobblety gook, babble! It is totally subject to miss interpretation, and imprecise meaning. Hence it is to be totally avoided like any other con job!
